| ZONING & CODES
The city of Palacios recently
completed master plans for sewage and water. In 1995, the city began a
major revision of its overall comprehensive plan. Currently, the city is
embarking on a 5 year street improvement program which will repair over
17 miles of city streets.
ZONING:
The city of Palacios has a zero zoning policy.
FEES:
A. Building Permit Fee:
For buildings of $1,000 or less, no fee unless inspection is
required, in which case a $15.00 fee for each inspection shall be
charged. For buildings of $1,000 to $50,000, $15.00 for the first $1,000
plus $5.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof to and
including $50,000. From $50,000 to $100,000, $260.00 for the first
$50,000 plus $4.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof to and
including $100,000. From $100,000 to $500,000, $460.00 for the first
$100,000 plus $3.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof to
and including $500,000. From $500,000 and up, the fee is $1,660 for the
first $500,000 plus $2.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction
thereof.
B. Water Hook Up Fee:
For the water tap, each new water customer shall be accessed a water
tap charge. For a water tap in the City of Palacios, Texas, as follows:
1. Tap size: 3/4inch = $300.00
2. Tap size: 1 inch = $350.00
3. Tap size: 1 1/2 inch = $450.00
4. Tap size: 2 inch = $750.00
4 inch and 6 inch meters, must be
installed by private contractors and inspected by the Public Works
Director and an inspection fee of $150.00 will cover the first three (3)
inspections and a $20.00 fee for each additional inspection required
will be levied.

C. Sewer Tap Fees:
For a sewer tap, each new sewer customer shall be assessed a sewer tap
charge. For a sewer tap in the City of Palacios, Texas, as follows:
1. Tap size: 4inch = $250.00
2. Tap size: 6 inch = $375.00

D. Mechanical Permit Fees:
1. New Construction - New
heating, Ventilating Duct, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration fees.
